Chicken with Poblano Cream Sauce pg 205

5 Toasts

Yes this dish may sound spicy but when you can't find a poblano chile at no frills and use a jalapeno instead the heat and flavour really mellow. Like the book says, combining it with cream really makes this dish manageable for even the most tame pallet.

Forget What this Is

2 Toasts
What was this? It was kinda bitter and next time use less breadcrumbs.

Steak & Onion Sandwiches pg 219

4 Toasts
Yummy! Use toasted country bread instead of a sub bun. So much for sustainability.

Quinoa and Spinach

4 Toasts
My office had entered into a food sustainability challenge and asked me to post a link to this blog, so in the spirit of cutting down on meat consumption we had this dish for dinner. I can't seem to find the page in the cookbook, but I know I couldn't make this up myself so either that or its online. Next time less feta cheese. Quinoa is delicious and people keep telling me it has great health benefits.
Our office won the sustainability contest and I received the following note from the Corporate Citizenship Department:

Dear Spoon,
Thank you for your participation in XSR:
X Sustainability Race.
As the top racer for the most engaging story during the race, we are enclosing your prizes: a tote bag from common Thread, a cooperative Canadian organization, and the cookbook "What a Wonderful World!" by Tim Tentcher. We hope you continue to inspire others with your efforts to eat sustainably!Thank you!

I have shown off this book to a few blog followers, and am thinking that if we meet the goal of 250 recipes in 350 days then we may have a new challenge on our hands.

Pecan-Crusted Catfish & Carrot Slaw with Yogurt Dressing pg232

3 Toasts for both

The lighter side of Southern cooking. The fish looked great but had a catfish taste. A bit firmer type of texture.
This was the second try for the carrot slaw, we still didn't use dill but we had carrots this time. We prefer either vinegar slaw or creamy slaw, but not both together.

Wondering if the new puppy "the Greek" we are getting will like catfish.

Orecchiette with Sausage & Roasted Peppers pg239

4 Toasts or 3 Toasts - depending who you ask
No we didn't use orecchiette, there was none at Loblaws, but for this dish it didn't matter as the real star was the sausage.

Beef Bulgogi pg215

5 Toasts

We ate this Korean dish with rice on the side instead of the traditional way, wrapped in lettuce leaves.
